Boarding – Day 1
We got an Uber
to the cruise terminal; it was maybe 10-15 minutes and very inexpensive. The
line was not very long to embark. It took maybe 30 minutes and it went
smoothly. The suite is lovely, so roomy and with everything we brought I am
really glad we chose to get a suite this time around. The first thing we did
was make it to the Lido deck for a bit of lunch. To my surprise they had
delicious rack of lamb as one of the entrees! Everything I had from the buffet
area was quite good. There are lots of choices, even a whole suckling pig,
which I did not try. Of course, there was the usual to take care of: Unpacking,
muster drill, etc. I am really exhausted tonight so after dinner it was off to
bed (which was late to begin with). We met a man named Fred. His wife died last
June after being married 57 years. He is brave to just travel by himself so
soon. Good for him! Earlier today I saw John and Blanche, friends from the
World Cruise. We will be playing Mexican Train with them during the cruise.
However, they do get off in Cape Town. Now Fred is joining us for Mexican Train
as well! Our cabin stewards Made and Yudi seem nice, friendly, and very efficient!
