Back to Africa

Most of you know I typically travel with just a carryon and a tote. While I can do that for many weeks (8 weeks in Europe 2009) this is not the trip for just a carryon!  The good news is I get complementary, unlimited Luggage Forward service from Holland America. We ended up getting several worthwhile perks when we booked a suite. I should be receiving my special (large, sturdy, impressive) luggage tags the middle of September. My luggage pick up is scheduled for September 27th. I did use this service before on the World Cruise, but it was not complementary.  Now it's time to get out my list and my giant suitcase and start the packing process...40 days until boarding the HAL Zuiderdam!

Deposit paid and final payment made back in February 2023, when I was on the World Cruise. This is really going to be a wonderful trip. I am so excited and eager to go to more countries in Africa. It is such a diverse and interesting continent. Stuart and I will be traveling together on this cruise. We seem to travel well enough together. This will be a longer trip than our last but I have confidence it will go well.  Dates are October 10-December 22, 2023. I am going to get off one stop before the end of the cruise so I can hopefully be certain to be home for Christmas. I will be flying home from San Juan, Puerto Rico instead of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
