Winelands Tour

We had a lovely day touring the Winelands. This brought back many memories of John and I visiting here in 2014. I will always be grateful to Tawny and George for those memories. South Africa Winelands are stunning! We visited 3 wineries today, Joostenberg, Mullineux & Leeu and La Motte. All uniquely different and all lovely.

We had a delightful and delicious lunch as La Motte Bakery...steak that would melt in your mouth all for approximately US$14.

We had time to take short tours of both the village of Franschhoek and the town of Stellenbosch. Franschhoek is surrounded by beautiful mountains and a monument to the Huguenots who settled here and helped South Africa to be the award winning producer of wine it has become. The wine farms are testaments to hard work and generational family commitments. The wine is simply delicious and the food…ah the food! What a beautiful day we had.

So we are back to the hotel and after such a late lunch, June and I had just a small bite to eat at the hotel restaurant. That was it for our day.
