Kapama Day 2

We requested a 5:15a wakeup call instead of 5:30, but tomorrow we will do the 5:30. I didn't realize they were giving us 30 more minutes for tea/coffee and warm blueberry muffins to start the day. They must be up to serve us by 3:00a!

It is barely dawn and we are on our way, furnished with another "bush baby" to keep us warm. However, it is not near as chilly as it was last night. What a great adventure. First it was elephants and giraffes. Then our guides hear the "call" of the lions that they had taken down something and it was their feeding time. So the search was on to find their location. As our driver said, it took some time but patience pays off as we found the pride of nine as they were resting after their meal.

Morning Game Drive Photos and Bush Coffee

This is an abandoned termite mound. The anteaters first dig into it and eat all the termites. They leave and the warthogs make it their home. However, then along comes the hyena and the warthogs lose their home. Often a leopard will come to one of these to house their young but they must be sure the hyena is no longer around or that would be the end of the leopard family!

After the morning game drive, breakfast was served! This was June's breakfast today. Needless to say, we skipped lunch! After this, it was back to the bungalow for showers and shampoos!!!

Our evening game drive didn't produce too many sites to see. The most exciting thing was 2 cape buffalos snorting at each other. Here is the very brief video

It was back to the camp after a sundowner and then off to bed fully exhausted!
