Kapama and Johannesburg
We had a nice morning game drive seeing hippos and more. Our Ranger/Driver/Guide Siven is great. He is so knowledgeable about the bush and survival. Such a nice man too. Our tracker Busami is also wonderful but more quiet than Siven. I believe they train as the tracker for some time before they move up in position. Then it was time for our final breakfast and saying goodbye to all the lovely people here.
Our drive to the airport was uneventful. A very small airport... no conveyer belts here for luggage, 1 gate, security is a closet sized area! Gotta love rural areas like this. The one plane arrives and deposits the people, then we are loaded on for our departure. I don't know if they have more than one flight a day. The way they talked, I don't think they do.
The good news on arrival in Johannesburg, our traveling companion Dave finally got his luggage! I will say he has been a good sport about it!
Most of the group took a 25 minute walk to an Italian restaurant for dinner. We opted to stay in for dinner, ending up with room service! Our room was not great but we did have a decent night of sleep so all was well. I will say it was a very nice hotel but they had to come in and adjust our one bed to two beds and it took some time. Then one of the beds made the entry to the bathroom a bit tricky. It all worked out. Lovely place but not my taste. All very open with little privacy, slick surfaces in black and white, lots of glass. Chicken pasta with feta for dinner, and for me a G&T... good night!
